How To Design Our Logo?

Once we know the name of our production company, we will need to create a logo for it, to visually establish our company against others (competitors). Here I have undertaken some research on current logos from both very established major companies and minor companies:

These will help me to design our logo, I can see that they don't have to be very elaborate to be effective; using simple serif or sans serif font with a small image that represents the name of the company, plus using as little colours as possible. I feel that researching these has helped me a lot into making decisions for our own logo.
