WHY DO WE HAVE TWO LOGO'S?
Our group did not intially intend to have two logo's. I had created two different ones to see which one each member of the group prefered, but we found it difficult to decide as they were both effective in their own way. Thus, what we decided to do was to include both into our trailer, the second gradually fading and zooming on screen to create an errie atmosphere amungst the audience. To create this logo I downloaded a simple sans serif font from http://www.dafont.com/ and typed out our production name and separated it with a line. As a group, we decided to have a black and white logo as we felt it looked more professional and 'clean'. To incorporate the 'locked' persepctive into the design I felt that inserting a 'key hole' into the 'O' made the logo unique and linked to the name of the production company. It will alos be a good way to esablish and distinguish our company against others.
For the second logo, I felt that I could encorporate a more horrorific style into the design, considering we are producing a horror trailer. I added a 'blurry mist' and trees into the edges of the design to add a bit of atmsosphere and creativity. I blurred and smudged out the edges as I felt that the edges looked a bit sharp.
I feel that animating these two designs together will be very effective, as well as adding an eerie soundtrack to create tension.
WHY 'LOCKED PRODUCTIONS'?
We decided to call our production company 'locked productions' because we felt that it was dynamic and unique. We also felt that 'locked' could represent mystery and tension 'locked' into the film or it could also represent secrets 'locked' in confinement. Finally we feel as if the effect the film or trailer can have on the audience can be 'locked' into their memory and encourage them to watch our films.
